Vista is working on bio-energy from waste in Polan
Oslo, 06.06.2023
Poland is a major agricultural nation with opportunities to produce biogas from agricultural waste. The country has a well-developed network of gas pipelines for district heating and other purposes. But today, agricultural resources are rarely used for biogas production. In this project, Vista Analyse, in collaboration with the Institute of Environmental Protection in Poland, will take a closer look at the possibilities of converting agricultural waste into useful biogas.
We will study how this can be done in the region of Tomaszów Mazowiecki-Opoczno, located southwest of Warsaw. In Norway, biomass is not widely used either, and the Climate Plan 2030 keeps highlighting the role of biomass for achieving climate goals. As part of the project, we will transfer Polish lessons and experiences to Norway. The project is financed by the so-called EEA and Norway Grants.
- Vista Analyse has a growing portfolio of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Europe, with several projects in Poland, Romania and Greece. This collaborative project is an important addition, says partner Haakon Vennemo, who heads several of the projects.
