The transport sector is changing due to environmental concerns on the one hand and the demands from a growing population and businesses on the other hand. Transport is one of Vista’s longest standing fields of competence, and we have extensive experience from assessments and economic analyses in transport.

We work on methodology development, analyses of single projects, quality assurance and process management. We know standard tools and methods well (e.g. RTM and EFFEKT), but have also developed our own models and tools for market analyses, transport projections and economic analyses. We contribute to business analyses, strategic advice, policy and instrument design, and public tendering processes and public procurement of public transport services.

More recently, we have analysed the wider (economic) benefits of transport investments. Vista regularly works on developing handbooks and guidelines on economic analyses, including editorial roles for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s new handbook. We have in-depth experience in the transport of goods on sea and rail, coast guard and harbour organisations, helicopter transport offshore, to mention a few recent projects.
