Cost-benefit analysis of flexible heating systems
Oslo, 23.01.2024
Unlike many other countries, electricity is widespread for heating in Norway. Electric radiators are cheap and convenient but make the user dependent on electricity. Increased use of other heating systems can make households and businesses less dependent on electricity.
We have conducted a cost-benefit analysis of potential new regulation that requires more widespread use of other, flexible heating systems. Our findings suggest that the costs of flexible solutions exceed the benefits provided by the extra flexibility.
