Eivind Tandberg has more than 30 years of experience in public finance, public administration, advisory services and research. He has a master’s degree in economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. He has worked as a research coordinator at the Center for Applied Research in Bergen, a deputy director general in the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, a unit chief at the World Bank, a deputy division chief in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a director general in the Oslo City Government.
Eivind Tandberg has contributed to evaluation and development of public management and governance in 140 countries and has visited 80 of these. He has participated in the development of several international standards and evaluation frameworks. He has led evaluation and advisory teams in many different countries, and published several reports and papers synthesizing the results of this work. Eivind Tandberg is a member of the IMF’s panel of fiscal experts, and regularly participates in IMF technical assistance projects. The last few years he has been particularly engaged in international work related to public investment, to governance and budgeting of public institutions and oversight of public corporations, and to management of fiscal risks.
