Henrik Lindhjem

Henrik Lindhjem holds a Ph.D. in environmental and natural resource economics from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and Master degrees from the Universities of Cambridge (Environment and Development) and Oslo (Economics). He has more than 10 years experience in the analysis of instruments for environmental policy and natural resource management, economic valuation of environmental- and health costs, cost-benefit-, risk- and safeguard- analysis and impact assessments at different levels. Recently Henrik has particularly worked on projects related to the use of economic instruments in management of ecosystems and biodiversity. Examples include the design of incentive systems to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), payment for ecosystem services (PES) and public auctions of biodiversity conservation contracts among private forest owners.

Henrik combines policy analysis and advice with academic research in Norway and internationally, and is also affiliated with Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA).
