Annegrete Bruvoll

Annegrete Bruvoll is a senior researcher with 18 years experience in environmental, energy and climate economics. She served for 8 years as Head of research at the Research Department at Statistics Norway and as a consultant for 3 years in the Economy Department, Ministry of Finance. Bruvoll also holds a part-time post in Statistics Norway.

Her main research fields are cost-benefit analyses, economic consequences of waste policy, economic growth and environmental consequences, emission leakages, driving forces to environmental change, market effects of inflow variation in the Nordic energy market and climate policy. The last years she has worked on an ongoing project studying the range of taxes and subsidies in energy- and climate policy, including studies of politicians’ motivation for the use of multiple instruments and tax exemptions. The main purpose of this research is to form principles for efficient regulation of external effects related to energy and to study the effects of different policy formulations. Bruvoll has participated in several evaluation programs of research in Norway as well as in EU, and was a member of ”Lavenergiutvalget” in 2009 - and she participates as a lead author in the 5th Assessment Report of the IPCC.
